My mind has been a turmoil of what to set for resolutions. I've set mountains to climb, habits to drop, habits to replace them.
But actually I think I might drop that and instead replace it with a different thought.
"What have YOU done today to make you feel PROUD?"
Yes, I shall make plans; I think it's great to set goals. But, surely if I hold fast to this thought, this question, then I can't go far wrong?
Excellent question and thought...We should all be cognisant of our capacity for action and interaction. Proud moments will then follow naturally.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this lead-in to 2011.
Yours is one of the new blogs that I have found that has a true "voice" - Just like Heather's actually!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with this new year.
I finally proposed to Mrs M. That made me feel pretty proud - well, that she said yes!
ReplyDeleteMaz! Congratulations! What wonderful news to hear about on New Years Day!!!
ReplyDeleteRobin, Thank you so much for your encouragement and support in 2010; I hope I can do the same for you in 2011!
Alan, Thank you very much indeed for the compliment. I actually read it while I was tweeting a photo from my walk on the moors earlier and it really made me feel good! Thank you for the good luck wishes and I wish you a Happy New Year in return :-)
A good way of looking at things - make the most of the time that we do have- and look at what we have achieved rather than what we might conditional on many other circumstances.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a much better idea to me - far too much build up to an arbitrary date on a calendar when it should be an ongoing process.
ReplyDeleteI was reviewing a document I wrote last January with some quite specific plans and I still can't decide how to proceed with it, so that's my ongoing process at the moment! Hopefully I've achieved a few other things in the meantime. ;-)
